Manuel's DUB è un festival nato e ideato per rendere omaggio a Manuel Asaro, amico e ragazzo che il 9 Marzo 2010 all'età di 24anni ha lasciato tragicamente questo mondo. Questa manifestazione si propone di mantenere vivo il suo ricordo promuovendo una musica e una cultura di cui era appassionato e per far sì che che in suo onore e in suo nome la nostra terra possa vivere giorni di riflessione, unione e fratellanza, valori di cui questa musica è veicolo.

Keeping the promise never to forget...
Manuel Dub is a festival born to pay tribute to Manuel Asaro, a man and a friend who tragically passed away in 2010 in a car accident, aged 24.
This event aims to keep his name alive, creating a special occasion where all tribes from all over the world can come in peace and unity to share days of meditation, brotherhood and love together, listening to Jah music.

In a land too often poor in good vibrations, we’re delighted to be back for a third year, stronger, more powerful, and ready to bring light to the island once more.
Thanks to ManuelDub crew, the only dub festival in the Sicilian summer is back.

As ever, we’re based in the beautiful, Mediterranean-splashed landscapes of western Sicily– but this year we’ve got a new, improved venue and a new schedule. Leaving you in peace for a lie-in the morning,
The sessions will take place at the Mazara open-air sports arena, our new venue, where the Sicilian 20 kilowatt “Bass in Trip sound systems” will be blasting out fresh dubs into the early hours.
Camping is free, and there is also free shuttle bus to take you from Mazara to the beautiful sea of “Approdo dei Saraceni” and to the evening venue!

It goes without saying that ManuelDub wouldn’t be the same without its special resident, the “Future Sound of Dub”, Vibronics. Fresh after the release of his latest album, The French Connection, Steve Vibronics will, as always, be bringing his pioneering, futuristic dub sound with the newest dubplates straight out of his Leicester studio. Once more, Vibronics’ basslines will be joined live in session by the mesmerising vocal team of special guest MCs Madu Messenger and Echo Ranks.

This year we are proud to be hosting the first ever performance in Sicily of France’s Original Bass Foundation (OBF)! will be playing original and exclusive OBF dubplates – tunes that you can’t buy in the shops, nor hear anywhere other than in an OBF session. Hoping to be able host their own earth-shattering soundsystem in the near future, all the ManuelDub massive has high hopes for what will be its first session with a French dub crew. Fans of big, steppa- style dub get ready – this is gonna be huge!

From his heavyweight radio show, United Nation of Dub (demonFM.co.uk), outta the Countaraction Band, another new artist for Sicily. Born and raised in Greece and ‘adopted’ by the city of Leicester, UK, we are happy to announce for our line up I-mitri. The singer, kette drummer, producer and broadcaster will play new dubplates showcasing some of the best new dub production to keep you skankin’ into the morning.

This year ManuelDub has added Sicilian flavour, and is proudly hosting the island’s very own Ghettocity sound. Mighty Prophet (mic), founder of the 2 Sicilian dub labels Ghettocity and Higher Regions, alongside Humble Brother (operator) will lead the way in putting Sicily on the dub music map.

After years of dedication to dub music and to honing their own sound, Wise Sound, part of the ManuelDub crew, will finally take their bow at the festival they belong to. WiSam (dubmaster), Dkunz (operator), Rankin’ Delgado (mic) and Vicè WiseHorns (sax/flute) bring their brand new setup to MDN#3, looking to firmly establish “bass power for higher meditation” on the shores of Mazara del Vallo for many years to come.

Lasciati alle spalle dubbi e incertezze sulla possibile riedizione, finalmente siamo tornati.
La Manuel Dub crew è lieta di annunciare la terza edizione dell’unico roots and culture dub festival siciliano.
Immersi come sempre nella punta estrema dell’europa meridionale, bagnati dal bellissimo mediterraneo della sicilia occidentale, siamo pronti ad affrontare una nuova edizione del Manuel Dub in una nuova location e con un programma rinnovato.
Mentre la mattina sará destinata al meritato riposo di tutti i partecipanti, tutto lo staff del Manuel Dub sarà già impegnato nella preparazione della free yard, che quest’anno si svolgerà sul mare. I pomeriggi saranno infatti conditi sin dalle prime ore dalle conscious vibes che prenderanno vita nella fantistica cornice dell’Approdo dei Saraceni (www.facebook.com/people/Approdo-Dei-Saraceni/100001463937777).
La sera si passera nella nostra nuova location, quest’anno avremo a disposizione il campo e la pineta del nostro palazzetto dello sport, un posto adatto ad ospitare la nostra manifestazione sia per musica che per campeggio.
Le notti saranno accese dal sicilianissimo Bass in Trip Sound System che fornirá la potenza sonora dei suoi 20kw ed oltre per farvi” skankeggiare” nelle notti di questo nuovo appuntamento del Manuel dub.

Ovviamente non poteva mancare anche quest’anno I nostril specialissimi resident. Non hanno più bisogno di alcuna presentazione soprattutto i più affezionati al MDN. The Future Sound of Dub, Steve Vibronics, a poca distanza dalla sua ultima fantastica uscita, l’album “The French connection”, una speciale raccolta di alcuni produzioni dub francesi rivisitate e remixate in puro stile Vibronics. Steve come sempre vi proporrà nuove vibes dal Vibronics studio di Leicester e non, e sarà accompagnato quest’anno dai due virtuosi singer Madu ed Echo, più che semplici MCs, che con la loro voce cavalcheranno i e fluttueranno i riddim diffondendo il messaggio universale di amore, fratellanza e unità.

E siamo veramente orgogliosi di portare per la prima volta nella nostra amata Sicilia i francesi Original Bass Foundation, il migliore steppa dub francese sarà presente per il nostro MDN#3. I due dub-makers and selectors, Rico (MC) and Guyohm (operator) suoneranno i loro speciali, unici e originali dubplates che non potrete ascoltare da nessun’altra parte se non ad una loro session. Quest’anno il festival sarà con ancora più orgoglio siciliano del solito, per la prima volta al Manuel Dub il duo Ghettocity infiammerà la yard. Probabilmente il più apprezzato dub producer siciliano all’estero, completamente immerso nella scena roots and culture, Mighty Prophet, insieme ad Humble Brother (operator) quest’anno hanno voluto sposare anche loro la causa Manuel Dub e portare le loro original vibez a tutti i presenti al Manuel Dub#3.

Dopo esperienze diverse, tutte nel segno della musica e delle vibes, la Wise Sound crew ha deciso nel di unirsi insieme per proporre la loro versione di dub.
